Born and raised in Alabama, craft author and designer Ellen Luckett Baker combines her love of traditional crafts with a modern aesthetic. With a B.A. in Art History and a Master's in Non-Profit Administration, Ellen discovered her love for sewing after she had her first child in 2002. She was drawn to the handmade movement by her belief that objects should hold beauty and personal meaning, bringing art to the everyday.
Ellen is author of 1, 2, 3 Sew from Chronicle Books and writer of the popular craft and sewing blog The Long Thread (thelongthread.com). She currently lives in Atlanta with her husband and two daughters.
